Today was a good day in fact today is a very good day, the only way this day could improve is if the exclusive we are about to impart involved an Irish Festival.
Today is the day that for my money, the most visionary and energising bands of the moment, Chase & Status were confirmed to headline the Saturday of the UK’s newest festival “We The People” and with a heady and intoxicating mix of dubstep, grime and drum n’ bass the slot is bound to be a show stopper.
Make no bones about it Chase and Status are the must see band in the UK and if you don’t know them take a look we promise you will be blown away. Best known for the utterly incredible “End Credits” featuring Plan B and having worked and performed with artists such as Plan B, Rihanna, Kano, Mali, Takura, Digga, Dizzee Rascal, Tempa T, Nero and others the music that they create is a truly heady mix and a live show is the best representation of old skool rave and the new skool of dub that this generation has ever produced….trust us.
Although in its inaugural year the Bristol Harbour based “We The People” is already shaping up to be one the hottest festival tickets around, with early bird prices of £25 this year’s event is already creating huge excitement across the water and after reading this we at Rap Ireland are sure that Irish fans may take a bit of an interest as well.
Taking place on 4th & 5th June in Bristol and spanning 3 arenas accommodating 10,000 people this “alternative” festival is promising a raft of DJ’s, live acts and contemporary music which will provide the soundtrack to what promoters are hoping will be the birth of a truly great festival.
Also announced today was the poet laureate that is Mike Skinner who, in one of his farewell shows for the Sunday headline slot, has vowed to send the Streets out with a bang, performing all the tracks that established him over a decade as the UK’s geezer rap prize-fighter. With a well-defined swagger The Streets will be bowing out in style making this another must-not-miss show.
