Atlanta rapper Soulja boy will have to turn his swag off for a short while after he was arrested alongside three of his bodyguards and a driver in Georgia on Tuesday. The star and his henchmen were arrested and held on a $10,000 bond following a traffic stop which revealed ample amounts of marijuana, weapons and a slightly less gangster possession in the form of a puppy.
The rapper whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way was travelling in a rented Cadillac Escalade en route to Mississippi around 2.30 am on the night of the arrest when police noticed one of his tail lights was not operating. As a result of the search, officers discover three firearms, five ounces of marijuana and $46,000 dollars in cash, although various figures have been reported.
The news comes on the same day that Soulja Boy dropped his DVD ‘Soulja Boy The Movie’, all five men, minus the puppy will be celebrating the release in Carroll County Jail in Georgia. The driver’s sister took the young canine into her care following the arrests.
Soulja Boy has been arrested previously for running away from police. “I just wanna put this behind me.” He tweeted at the time. If this arrest lands the rapper in jail, he might be quick to distance himself from his ‘pretty boy swag’ image. In addition to this, fans of the star will be worrying that their beloved will have to kiss them through the phone should such an incarceration take place.
