In the aftermath of her duet with Taylor Swift at the iHeartRadio Festival, Nicki Minaj gushed over the country music maestro and praised her for taking her smash hit “Superbass” to a whole other level.
Minaj told Billboard:”I want to publicly say again that Taylor Swift really launched that single into another stratosphere, with just tweeting about it and rapping it and stuff.” The Young Money megastar’s song reached no.3 in the Billboard Hot 100, making it the highest ranking single by a female rapper since Missy Elliots “work it” reached no.2 in 2002.
During the interview which took place after the unlikely pairing performed, Minaj remarked: “I performed it with Taylor, and she’s so cute, and she’s like a big bowl of ice cream!”
As Nicki continues to enjoy the success of her debut album Pink Friday, which was certified platinum in January, the Harajuku barbie revealed a little nugget of information about the follow-up which is as yet unnamed: “All I can say is that Roman will definitely be a humongous part of the follow-up to Pink Friday.”
The Trinidadian revealed that her lips are sealed when it comes to revealing any more details about the album: “I can’t talk about anything else that has to do with the sophomore album. All I can say is that I’m working on it and the fans are gonna get their life and then some.” The Pink Friday follow-up will surely require the features that Minaj listed, if it is to achieve any of the plaudits received by its platinum selling predecessor.
