The Ripper Returns. And in the humbled opinion of this writer, he’s back better than before. The Scooby produced beat on this track is on some next level sh*t and suits Kelly’s flow and tone down to a tee. The song itself is due to be released as part of Rob’s “Black Irish Rogue” album which is due to drop at the top of 2014 with the backing of Commonwealth Records stateside.
While many Irish artists are starting to sound very similar, seemingly borrowing each other’s flows, Rob Kelly is setting the bar here with a masterful display of timing and delivery that puts him on a par with our American brethren. If anyone is to make it stateside and earn the accolades of respected opinion formers in the major markets it is Rob Kelly. Here’s hoping he can stay on-task in the coming months and deliver on the potential that has been promised for the best part of a decade.
