Queens native Nas recently revealed the title for his tenth solo album ‘Life Is Good’. While speaking with DJ Envy for MTV’s Sucker Free about his new project, Esco stated that the first single is titled ‘Nasty’ and will be released soon.
“It’s not done. It’s almost there. It feels good. It feels like… I’m letting a lot go on this, and I’m happy that I’m here. I’m just a survivor. I look at a lot of us like survivors. This is music for survivors. This is the keep your hope, to change your mind state when you don’t think it’s good. It is, man, no matter what. So when they get a taste of it, they gon’ feel exactly what it’s coming from and they gon’ know what it is. Take it from a man who experienced it.”
On ‘Nasty’, the rapper says he channels his former alias Nasty Nas, whilst looking ahead. “The first joint is called ‘Nasty.’ That’s what we getting ready to give the world right now. You right on time. We ain’t going backwards, we staying forwards though. They gon’ see what it is”
Nas was not being exact about the album’s content but did state that “I couldn’t keep it out. Everything’s addressed. It’s all life’. Hinting that there may be a venting from the rapper on his recent life experiences, including his divorce from singer Kelis and the birth of their son Knight. Nas says that the project is almost done and he considers it to be his best work to date adding “This album is just a piece of my blood, flesh, and bones. This album right here is the one”
Nas’s last release was a joint album with Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley entitled ‘Distant Relatives’. The highly acclaimed album was released in May of last year and continues to sell well. A unique album with a fusion of Hip-Hop and Reggae, it reflected the great chemistry between the two artists to create some fantastic music.
