It looks like Peter Rosenburg hit a nerve at the Hot97 Summer Jam. While introducing Kendrick Lamar to the stage, the Hot 97 DJ announced that “We about that REAL Hip-Hop, not Starships”, a comment that most would agree and co-sign to, but clearly not YMCMB. It wasn’t long before Lil Wayne got wind of the comment and caused uproar by pulling Nicki Minaj and the entire YMCMB roster from the festival. Apparently hearing a thought that is on many people’s minds was just too much to handle.
