Things have changed a lot in 10 years. The last time Lil Wayne and Mannie Fresh worked together was on the 2004 release “Tha Carter”, during a period when Wayne was the fresh new hope for Hip-Hop having cemented his position on the underground circuit with numerous critically acclaimed mixtapes. Shortly after that album release, Mannie Fresh had a serious falling out with the Cash Money label, forcing Wayne to take sides and causing a rift that would not be healed for many years.
Many have argued in later years that Wayne has missed the production values that Mannie Fresh brought to the table, and it is also quite clear that Mannie spent some time in the wilderness without the Cash Money machine behind him.
Well now it would appear that all wounds have healed and the duo are back working together for Lil Wayne’s upcoming LP “Tha Carter V”. The photo to the left was taken last night in an Atlanta recording studio. Photo Credit: LWHQ
