Jay-Z’s bright young British protégé K Koke has been charged with attempted murder.The UK rapper, real name Kevin Georgiou, is remanded in custody and accused of shooting a man in the back at Harlesden Train Station, Northwest London, in March of this year.
As revealed to you by Rap Ireland HERE , 25-year-old Georgiou from Stonebridge, London, recently signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label to huge acclaim and it seemed his future was assured. According to reports, Georgiou was arrested after British Transport Police officers raided his home last week.
He was subsequently charged and remanded in custody after appearing before the City Of Westminster Magistrates Court on Saturday (June 4th). He is due to appear in front of Blackfriars Crown Court on June 15th.
Koke is the fifth person to be charged in connection with the shooting of the 27-year-old who had travelled from south London to take part in a football project. He was rushed to hospital after being shot in the back in the train station foyer but has thankfully since been discharged.
The motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting have yet to be released but the arrests follow a prolonged investigation by police using eye witness accounts, CCTV footage and statements taken from the victim .
A 16-year-old girl, two 16-year-old boys and a 17-year-old youth are also all accused of attempted murder, and remanded to appear at West London Youth Court. Additionally, another 20-year-old who was arrested in connection with the incident is bailed to return to a police station later this month.
