Despite various reports that Gucci Mane was released from jail over the weekend, it has emerged that these claims are in fact false. It has been revealed that the Southern rapper is still incarcerated and will remain behind bars in Fulton County, Georgia, until the end of the week.
The rapper whose real name is Radric Davis, has been in the clink since April, on misdemeanor charges of battery. It is alleged he shoved a female passenger from a moving vehicle, alongside probation violation charges back in January.
Davis, who sports a distinctive tattoo of an ice- cream cone with three scoops on his right cheek, has also served time for assault and drug charges along with minor traffic offenses in the past. He evaded murder charges in 2005, as a result of insufficient evidence against him.
Gucci Mane’s exact release date is not known at this time.
