West Coast rapper Game has praised his former mentor and label boss Dr. Dre for the magic he produces in the studio.
During an interview with Fuel TV’s ‘The Daily Habit’, when asked of all the collaborators on his forthcoming album, Game remarked, ‘The best person to work with is probably definitely Dr. Dre, He’s always been like a father figure, older brother. And it’s just like going back to school and somebody really putting in the time to help you with your work ethic’
It was 2006, when Game last worked with Dr. Dre, not having any Dre produced beats on his last two studio albums. Also in 2006, Game was dropped from Aftermath, Dr. Dre’s record label, after the beef that broke out between him and 50 Cent and his G-Unit camp could not be settled.
Although always praising his old mentor and admitting how much he missed working with the former N.W.A. member, Game did say he was now glad of the time away ‘It was five years, but I kind of think I needed the break. I matured a lot, it helped me grow. I had a lot of time to reflect on my life and my career and to go out there and do it myself. But being back with Dr. Dre makes it a lot easier. He’s definitely the greatest hip-hop producer of all time, and one of the best producers of all time.
Game’s new album R.E.D. is due to be released on August 23rd,
