Compton rapper Game is getting ready to release his long awaited “R.E.D.” album, which has finally been given what looks like a definite date in August. Speaking to Billboard, Game said that himself and chairman of Interscope Records Jimmy Iovine had a meeting recently and discussed the release date for his latest album and was told that the album would be DEFINITELY hitting the shelves in late August.
“I had a meeting with Jimmy Iovine last week, and he told me the album was slated for the end of the summer, and it will not be pushed back any more than that. So we’re looking towards late August.” Said Game.
Game’s new video for his latest single “Red Nation” Ft Lil Wayne is due to premiere this week but fans will have to make do with seeing it on the Internet. It was due to premier on MTV and BET this Thursday, but the rapper confirmed it has been banned by the two networks.
The Black Wall Street front man has described the video as a mix between the film “Mad Max” and Nas‘ 2002 video for “One Mic”.
“It’s like “Mad Max” mixed with Nas’ “One Mic” video, where there’s riots’ going on in the background,” said the rapper . “We did this thing where I’m on top of a burning car rapping, and we had some flares and a lot of fire, fireworks and all of that. It’s definitely the most fun video I’ve ever shot, and I think it’ll be the best video I’ve ever shot to date.”
Game took to his Twitter account last night to clear the matter up.
