The UK festival season kicked off in big style with Radio One’s Big Weekend in Carlisle. The festival is held once a year, in a different location within the UK each time. The two day festival is the biggest free ticketed music event in Europe and is run by BBC Radio 1.
This year on the bill were The Foo Fighters, Swedish House Mafia, Jessie J, Lady Gaga, Plan B, Nicole Scherzinger, Arctic Monkeys, Chase & Status ,Tinie Tempah, The Black Eyed Peas, Bruno Mars, Professor Green, Taio Cruz, Magnetic Man and Devlin. The Weekend was streamed live on both the Saturday and the Sunday on the Radio 1’s website with headliners of each day broadcast live on BBC Three. Highlights of the event will also broadcast on BBC Three and BBC HD during the week but till then we have the best of the acts below.
