Eminem‘s 7th album, ‘Recovery’ has rewarded the rapper with a record-breaking achievement. Since its’ release in 2010, ‘Recovery’ which features the global hit “Love the way you lie” has sold one million digital copies in the United States. This is in addition to the record’s status as the top selling physical album of 2010, moving nearly four million copies.
To add to this success, Marshall’s collaboration with Royce Da 5′ 9, “Hell: The Sequel” topped the charts in its’ first week. According to hiphopdx.com, this makes Shady, the first rapper in five years to have two number one albums in the space of a 12-month period.
Eminem’s long-time manager Paul Rosenberg, reacted to the record breaking online sale of ‘Recovery’, “Over the years, we’ve made a concerted effort to engage Em’s online fan-base, so this achievement is especially rewarding. Eminem made an amazing album with ‘Recovery’ and the fans responded in record numbers.”
In the past year, Eminem has been an all-encompassing musical force, physically in concerts and in album sales. However, this most recent digital record, takes the Detroit rapper to a whole other realm.
