Dublin Nightclub Tripod to close down permanently

It was a sad day for independent promoters in Dublin this weekend, with the announcement that the flagship Tripod venue will be closing it’s doors permanently, following months of speculation. Not only will the massive Harcourt St nightclub shut down, but associated establishments, Crawdaddy, Odeon Bar and The Lower Deck are all also shutting up shop.

It is thought that the closures are due to the overall downturn in Dublin’s clubbing and concert scene, though rumours have already begun to circulate that there may be a renovation and re-opening in store for 2013, with local nightclubs CopperFace Jacks and Krystle potentially incorporating a part of the large complex.
