DMX, real name Earl Simmons, is currently serving a year long sentence in Arizona’s State Prison Complex in Phoenix for violating the terms of his probation, but the 40 year old rapper will be back on the streets by the end of Summer. According to the Arizona Department Of Corrections’ court records, the Ruff Ryder will be released under supervised watch on July 1st with his supervision to end on August 12th.
Back in November of last year, after a series of irrational events, Dark Man X was denied bail for violating his probation on drugs charges, failing to submit a drug test, and driving with a suspended license. Then on December 16th last, he was sentenced to a year in prison for the violations and charges but with credit for 113 days served. Judge Christine Mullenaeux who sentenced the rapper noted that he may suffer from bi-polar disorder or some sort of mental affliction.
DMX’s first album It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot was released back in 1998 and he has released five more since that one plus three compilation albums, the last one The Best Of DMX which was released in 2010. The last studio album from X was 2006’s Year Of The Dog….Again. We’ll just have to wait and see what’s next in store from the Yonker’s native come the end of Summer.
