It seems the vague hopes of a Ruff Ryders reunion tour may be gaining some traction, with the once-mighty crew said to be positing a major international tour.
Last year we brought you news of the crew’s 5th album, Past, Present, Future, which dropped following a 6 year wait. Now DMX has added fuel to the rumours of a reunion tour, stating:
“We are all family and we’re going to come back stronger than when we left … It’s going to take the nation by storm,” he said.
DMX has said he needs to speak with The LOX (Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch) about joining the tour, but it is believed that Swizz Beatz, Drag-On, Murda Mook and Eve are all on board for a nationwide tour already.
For our younger readers who may not remember, the Ruff Ryders were the seminal crew of the late 90s, with group and solo albums dominating the charts. Having performed with Swizz Beats at the 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards following his release from prison, it is believed DMX is the flag carrier for the impending reunion.
