Maverick Sabre to play Dublin – 31st October

Arguably Ireland’s most successful urban export, with the possible exception of Laura Izibor, Maverick Sabre is due back in the city that played host to many a performance in his formative years. Whelan’s on Wexford street is where you will find the rapper-turned-singer, who recently played the Oxegen Festival in Punchestown.

Originally from London, Maverick was brought up in Wexford, where he honed his craft while travelling back and forth to Dublin where a growing fanbase awaited. Playing a number of shows alongside Rap Ireland, Mav became known for his exhilarating raw rapping style that set the teenager apart from his peers.

Through these shows, Sabre came to the attention of another rising star, Plan B, who took Maverick under his wing when the Wexford-man made the plunge with a move back to London. The rest, as they say, is history. Whelan’s on Halloween night will see the culmination of many hard years of progress, with Ireland’s urban community set to welcome home a returning hero.

Tickets are priced €18.90 inc Booking Fee.
