Lil Wayne makes Forbes list

Lil Wayne makes Forbes ListDespite being incarcerated for a large chunk of 2010, Lil Wayne still managed to coin a place for himself on the Forbes best paid list. According to the prestigious record of the rich who are under 30, Lil Wayne laughed his way all the way from Riker’s Island to the bank, having amassed $15 million over the past year.

The Forbes list which takes into account what each celebrity made between May 2010 and May 2011 comprises of celebrities from the worlds of sport, music and movies.

Wayne who managed to release an album despite being behind bars, barely made the list coming in at number. 28. His album ‘I am not a human being’ which was released on September 27th, the same day he turned 28, made Weezy the first rapper since Tupac Shakur to have a number.1 album whilst locked up. Others who made the cut from the world of Hip Hop include Rihanna and Beyonce.

Bey, who was last years top earner under 30, placed unusually low on the list residing at number eight with a total income of $35 million in 2010. Forbes cited her general inactivity in 2010 as the reason behind this. Beyonce spent the past year off the touring trail and in the studio recording her album ‘4’, so the majority of her earnings were derivatives of her non-music related ventures and promotional contracts. Rihanna ranked at number. 10 after making $29 million, largely off the back of her fifth album ‘Loud’ and the tour behind it.

The Forbes under 30 rich list shows that Lil Wayne is never truly down. The Cash Money rapper has taken his label’s name in the most literal sense and it appears he can only go up from there.
