So it seems that the rumoured Independence Day release of “Watch The Throne” was in fact just that.
Having waited with bated breath over the weekend and having brought you the gossip on Thursday what we are actually in receipt of today is the albums artwork!
Yep that’s right after much hype and with expectations running to fever pitch amongst fans and music press alike the news is that the albums artwork is a gold!
But take heart as along with the strangley designed patchwork of gilded embossment comes a surprise as the Album is actually ready for pre-order, fans visiting Jay-Z’s website “Life and Times” are presented with a template of the album cover which is in fact a patchwork allowing fans to click on to a square and pre-order the album which is available in four editions.
The deluxe CD is being sold for (US) $16.99, with the standard CD at $13.99 plus any shipping which Irish fans may want to take into account when ordering. The album is also available in MP3 versions, again with the deluxe copy going for a slightly higher $14.99 and the standard digital album priced at $11.99, shipping costs and taxes are not included for these versions.
All fans pre-ordering will ultimately be directed to the Def Jam site to do the necessary with the plastic and once that’s done the official shipping date is being given as 2nd August 2011 which would seem to make that the definitive date for the Albums release.
Not too sure what we think of the Art Work, which includes neither the Artist’s names or the Album title, here at rapireland but one thing is for sure as with the first track H.A.M. released earlier this year it is sure to divide opinion amongst the Hip Hop community. Have a look and let us know what you think.
