While over in the UK promoting his 11th studio album “Doggumentary”, Snoop Dogg spoke to the guardian.co.uk about his collaboration with Charlie Sheen and the TV show X-Factor. Snoop, who thinks American Idol and X-Factor were “great shows”, announced that he is interested in producing a Hip-Hop style take on the popular shows, and believes that such a show ought to be marketed “straight directed to the hood … at people with no money, just talent”.
“I’m looking for a deal from a network to find America’s hottest hood artists,” explained the Long Beach native. When asked what he thought about US X-Factor judge and Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole, Snoop replied: “She alright. She doing her thing. She a little bit hardcore, a bit edgy.”
Last week the rapper dropped the much talked about collaboration with Charlie Sheen called “Winning”, featuring some of the former Two & Half Men star’s infamous catchphrases. “Charlie Sheen was my friend before,” said Dogg. “I don’t judge my friends. If he’s my friend, he’s going to stay my friend. He called me over for a session … he needed real people to stand by him.”
