Good old Charlie Sheen; never one to let a good opportunity pass him by, he continues his manipulation of all the recent controversy surrounding his personal life by releasing a hip hop single.
Featuring Snoop Dogg and incorporating Sheen’s “winning” catchphrase, the single is set to hit the airwaves stateside with riffs provided by former Korn guitarist Rob Patterson.
Following a series of hugely published incidents and arrests over the past 12 months, which lead to his demise from the perversely cult sitcom, “Two and a Half Men,” Sheen embarked upon an outrageous string of interviews, in which he embraced his media persona and introduced us to phrases such as “tiger’s blood,” “Adonis DNA,” and of course, “winning!”
Far from being a career implosion, Sheen has since embraced infamy and has been cashing in on a huge scale with a range of t-shirts, a comedy tour, and now, a music single.
Speaking in LA, Patterson told reporters that the single could turn into something, but admits that it shouldn’t be taken too seriously.
“Look, it’s a good song,” he said. “But I honestly don’t want people to take it seriously. It’s meant to be fun and entertaining.”
Patterson it was who decided to try and enlist Snoop’s services for the song and was elated when the living legend then came to Sheen’s mansion to lay down the track a few days later.
Sheen himself is more than happy with the resulting track.
“Snoop is a warlock,” Sheen said. “He came in and nailed it in a couple of hours.”
“People will love the song,” the actor added. “Who doesn’t like to be winning?”
According to sources, the track will also feature a little Carmen Electra, who is engaged to Patterson. Electra kicks off the song with a sultry sounding, “Oh, good evening, Mr. Sheen. Are you winning?”. “No,” replies Snoop. “He’s smokin’ right now!”. “Winning, winning, winning,” Sheen cuts in.
The song will have two versions — an R-rated version, which Patterson says will be more rap themed, while the “family version” is more rock and all parties involved are hoping they will become anthems for the summer.
It was unknown what stations would be playing the song on Tuesday, but there’s a fair chance, Sheen will be tweeting about it, so follow him on Twitter @CharlieSheen. The single will be available on itunes from Wednesday.
