While Phife Dawg may no longer be a household name with the new generation of Hip-Hop’ers, those in the know will remember Phife as one third of the legendary Hip-Hop group, A Tribe Called Quest, partnering Q-Tip on microphone duties. This Saturday provides a unique opportunity to celebrate one of the best Hip-Hop groups of our time, with activities beginning at 2pm and continuing late into the night.
It all kicks off early in the afternoon with a special screening of “Beats, Rhymes and Life”, the Sundance Film nomination for 2011, which follows the turbulent lives of A Tribe Called Quest. Phife himself will be on hand to answer audience questions. Later in the evening the show continues as Phife takes to stage at The Twisted Pepper, where a full house is expected, to be promptly followed by the venue’s notorious Pogo Saturday Night club.
