What had the potential to be one of the strangest collaborations since Nelly and Tom McGraw, will now more than likely never happen. Lil Wayne put to rest, the prospect of recording with teen icon J-Biebs, in an recent interview with XXL Magazine.
In a candid interview, Weezy detailed the relationship he shares with the young artist, and made it clear he has the Biebs’ best interest at heart. He continued; “He texts me every night asking me to do [his] d-mn song. That’s my nigga, but I can’t do it. Like I said, I don’t want to f–k his sh-t up.”
The news may come as a surprise to fans as JB was recently seen sporting a YMCMB t-shirt, sparking rumours that he may join the lucrative label. He is also a close friend of up and coming Young Money bright prospect, Lil Twist.
Weezy stated his intentions clearly when he said he has to steer clear of Bieber for the young man’s reputation to remain intact, however, he mentioned another Justin who he placed on his ‘to collaborate with’ list; “But, like I said, I want to work with Justin Timberlake. That boy got a voice, that boy can sing. He needs to come back right there on Tha Carter IV.”
With speculation rife over Lil Wayne’s imminent retirement, after remarks he made in the same interview. Justin Timberlake may have a small window in which to make this proposed collaboration, a reality.
