Kanye West has been a notable absence on the award-show circuit following last September’s stage-jacking debacle with Taylor Swift. Having received such a negative backlash, Kanye has kept a low profile for the past 8 months and is finally back on-hand to kick off the 2010 BET Awards.
The illustrious show, which will be emcee’d by Queen Latifah and will feature appearances from Eminem, Trey Songz and Nicki Minaj, is due to be opened by West, who will perform a live version of his recently leaked single “Power” ft Dwele.
The Chicago rapper is up for 2 awards himself, one for Best Collaboration with Lil’ Wayne and Eminem and another for Video of the Year with Jay-Z and Rihanna.
Let’s hope if he wins no-one tries to do a “Kanye” on his ass!
