This week Jay-Z held his first New York concert of the year at the Roseland Ballroom. The hour long set was part of Upfront Week for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. Upfront is a meeting hosted at the start of important advertising sales periods by television network executives over in the US. Jigga performed his hits in front of a crowd full of big name Hip-Hop acts including Pharrell, Ne-Yo, Kid Cudi, Fabolous, DJ Khaled, and Swizz Beatz.
According to several sources, the rapper has ironed out a deal with Cartoon Network to set up projects with Adult Swim that is likely to involve an original animated series. The deal is said to be complete, and would mark his first venture into television production and development. Jay even performed his track “Thank You” over Adult Swim’s “The Boondocks” theme song at his New York show. Adult Swim is an adult-oriented cable television network that is part of the Cartoon Network over in America. The network features animated shows, including original programming that starts broadcasting at 9:00 PM.
At the show in NYC Hov was rocking a new hair cut, Jay Z fans will know that while working on an album he lets his hair grow and when the project is done he gets it cut. “Watch The Throne” coming soon?
