Jason Derulo has announced a surprise Irish date in August, following the outstanding worldwide success of “Whatcha Say”, which charted number 1 in the U.S earlier this year and sold over 1 million copies to date.
It remains to be seen how popular the 19 year old R’n’B singer is in Ireland, where his self-titled album “Jason Derulo” was released just 9 weeks ago. That said, the album peaked at an impressive No.10 on the Irish album charts, with “Whatcha Say” and latest single “In my Head” charting numbers 7 and 3 respectively, indicating that the Florida native has the potential to become a household name in the Irish market.
The Thursday evening show takes place 26th August at The Academy on Abbey St, where tickets are priced 25 euro, and an age restriction of over-14s applies. No alcohol is being served on the night so if you are being dragged along by your girlfriend/wife/daughter make sure you have a well hidden stash!
