When it comes to Hip-Hop artists performing in Ireland, there is only one king; Eminem. No other rapper has ever come close to the amount of tickets the Detroit born superstar can shift, and that has been reflected in the announcement of Slim Shady for Slane in 2013.
Event organiser and owner of Slane Castle, Lord Henry Montcharles, was nonplussed about the fact that Mathers cancelled his 2005 concert at the same venue, stating “In 2005 I said Eminem was a stunning artist. He is even more so today. I am thrilled he is going to play Slane”
Tickets for the concert go onsale next Wednesday, in a well-thought out move to hit the Christmas market. However, they don’t come cheap; tickets are priced at €79.50 for the August 17th concert.
