The news that Beyonce will release her fourth album in June will no doubt be greeted by cheers of exhilaration from her global fan-base. It will arrive two and a half years after the release of her Grammy award winning and iconic album “I am Sasha Fierce”- the double disk set that spawned the scintillating hit ‘Single Ladies’ which has since become an abiding anthem for bachelorettes everywhere.
The album aptly named ‘4’ will be unleashed upon the Irish contingent of Beyonce fans on Friday the 24th of June. This mid-Summer date is sure to whet the appetite of her legion of fans who will be Oxegen bound two weeks later to hear its contents on the live stage. Beyonce will be appearing on the last night of the festival at Punchestown on the 10th of July.
In the run up to the June 24th day of destiny, their most famous ‘child’ has dispensed an arousing aperitif in the form of debut single from the forthcoming album “Run the World (Girls). This song serving as the perfect alpha-female track to set her followers frothing at the mouth. Run the World (Girls) and the boisterous beat it emits will serve to a multitude of musical tastes with a hardcore techno tune re-occurring throughout.
The accompanying video which debuted on American Idol on the 18th of May shows a distinctly autonomous Beyonce and an army of women just like her. The song emits a similar ethos to ‘Single ladies’ except on a much harder note. To add to this her wild and powerful presence are complimented by her unfaltering dance abilities which never fail to mesmerize. If this is a taster of what ‘4’ is going to comprise of, then her Irish followers will have much to look forward to on June 24th.
