Reggae/Dancehall star Elephant Man has been released on bail, following his arrest earlier in the week on rape charges. The hugely popular Jamaican artist, who is best known for his 2003 smash “Pon De River”, had been an ongoing target in the police investigation following a direct complaint by the victim.
Real name O’Neill Bryan, Elephant Man was arrested and questioned by police when it became clear that the woman’s accusations held up. Having posted $400,000 Jamaican dollars, around €3,000, Elephant Man was released on bail. A court date has yet to be set and we will bring you news as we get it.
